On September 4, 2023, a delegation from FirstRand Bank, led by Nanagolo Phiri, Head of Corporate Client Group, Phakamile Mainganya, Chief Risk Officer, and Thabani Zungu, Head of Credit visited Shanghai Gold Exchange(SGE), and met with Gu Wenshuo, SGE’s Vice President. Representatives from relevant business departments of SGE participated in the meeting as well.

During the meeting, Ms. Phiri provided an overview of FirstRand Bank's business activities and the group’s detailed plans to engage in China’s gold market.  She was especially keen to know more about SGEI, the international board . In response, Vice President Gu Wenshuo introduced in details SGE’s overall businesses and the latest developments of the international board. He expressed a warm welcome to and high hope on FirstRand Bank's bigger role in SGE market in the future.

Both parties agreed to keep in closer contact upon prior good communication, and work together for win-win cooperation while fueling the high quality growth of the global gold market.
