On 27 April 2023, David Tait, CEO of the World Gold Council, and Wang Lixin, CEO of China, visited Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) and held talks with Chairman Yu Wenjian and Vice President Gu Wenshuo.

Chairman Yu welcomed Mr.Tait’s visit and introduced the development history of China's gold market and the business progress of SGE. Since then, the two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as market innovation and international cooperation.

Tait spoke highly of the achievements of China's gold market and SGE in the past 20 years, and expected to maintain a good cooperative relationship with SGE in the future to jointly promote the further improvement of global market governance.
Chairman Yu said that the previous cooperation between the two sides was close and fruitful. In the future, while promoting the high-quality development of the domestic gold market, SGE will further strengthen communication and deepen cooperation with the World Gold Council, so as to contribute to building a more secure, more efficient and transparent global gold market system.
