On June 4, 2024, Simon Ireland, Managing Director of ANZ International and Chairman of ANZ China, visited Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) and met with SGE Chairman Yu Wenjian. He was accompanied by Chris Raciti, Country Head of ANZ China.

At the meeting, Chairman Yu presented the history, recent developments, and future visions of SGE. He noted that ANZ was one of the first international institutions that entered China’s precious metals market and has been a strong supporter of SGE. Mr. Yu hoped that the two institutions will maintain their mutually beneficial relationship built on sincerity and trust, and deepen their cooperation in broader areas to promote the high-quality development of China’s precious metals market.
Mr. Ireland reaffirmed ANZ’s commitment to the Chinese market and said ANZ would strengthen the partnership with SGE to further enhance the exchange and collaborative programs between the Chinese and the global precious metals markets.
